Steve Lesher

Steve Lesher is Manager of Corporate Relations in the U.S. West Coast for Shell USA where he has been an employee for over 20 years. Steve and his team manage government advocacy, stakeholder relations, and communications for Shell’s businesses and assets in the Coastal and Mountain West.

Prior to working for Shell, Steve worked in the California Legislature as Chief of Staff to a Member of the State Assembly and as an Aide to a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.  He also served in the Administration of California Governor Pete Wilson who appointed Steve to serve on the state’s Postsecondary Education Commission. 

Steve is a proud resident of the San Francisco Bay Area and has served in a variety of leadership roles both in his community and in the state.  In 2004, Steve founded the Lesher Speaker Series to promote thoughtful public discourse and to improve cultural programming in the San Francisco Bay Area where he is from.  Currently in its its 20th season, the forum has hosted a wide range of guests including: First Lady Laura Bush, British Prime Minister Theresa May, Mexican President Vicente Fox, and a variety of other foreign and domestic policymakers, media figures, artists, activists, and athletes.

Steve graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Political Science from the University of Southern California (Fight On, Trojans!) and has a Master’s Degree in Leadership Studies from Saint Mary’s College (Go, Gaels!).  He is a firm believer in the goodness of people, the benefits of laughter, and the Designated Hitter.
